A MESSAGE FROM Nikki
I am taking on Team In Training’s Re(Solution) Challenge to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families, including my family.
My dad was diagnosed with leukemia (AML) in February 2020. During the pandemic, he has undergone multiple rounds of chemo and a stem cell transplant. At the start of his treatment, he was evaluated for a clinical study that is being funded by LLS, but ultimately was not chosen as a match. It was such a special moment, sitting in the doctors office, reading through the clinical study and seeing what an impact LLS is making on the lives of AML patients like my dad. In a way, it felt like all the money I've helped to raise and donate was culminating right there. But our LLS' work is not done, and we have to help to continue the mission. Just like my dad has fought this battle, we have to be there with him and all the other patients, step for step.
I will be conquering my mileage goal throughout the month of January, while fundraising and raising awareness for blood cancers.
Blood cancer patients need our support now more than ever in these challenging times. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight against cancer and provides critical support to blood cancer patients across the country.
I invite you to join me in Re(solving) to find blood cancer cures by taking on the #TNTChallenge in the face of and making a donation or registering today! I'll be riding at least 100 miles in January - help support me with your miles or funds!
