The National CMV Foundation (NCMVF) is the only national nonprofit comprised of a network of advocates and professionals whose mission is to prevent pregnancy loss, childhood death, and disability due to cCMV.
About 1 in 200 children are born with cCMV and about 1 in 5 of those children will have a permanent health condition or disability. NCMVF works to inform and educate communities about the risks of cCMV infection, especially among pregnant women. Children born with CMV may have birth defects and experience significant developmental disabilities. Unfortunately, and despite this reality, CMV remains the most common infection babies are born with in the U.S. Learn more about the National CMV Foundation.
